It's true!
I can't stop listening to hits from the 90s. That includes Boy bands too! Yay Backstreet Boys. I grew up listening to them. My first cd ever was Backstreet Boys's "Millennium".
I remember back in the days when they played "Quit Playing Games With My Heart" on the radio. I'll get so hyped up that I sang along. Then when they released "I Want It That Way" my friends and I back in elementary school would sing it whenever it's on the the radio while getting a ride back home. Then as I grew older, I started drifting away from those songs and stuck more to Rock. Ya know, back then as a teen, we had a "need" to be angsty for god knows what reason. Growing pains I suppose.
Linkin Park become my advocate. In fact, I collected their albums minus their remixes.I later on mellowed to acoustic tunes over time. Signs of aging!! I remember listening to Jamie Cullum to a point that I can't sleep if I don't listen to his album "Twenty Something". I just had to hear his jazzy voice lullaby me to sleep although Michael Buble had it smoother. Haha "Home" always seemed to me to be the perfect song to listen to whenever it rains. Specially when I'm all snugged in warm and comfy under my blankets.
Although I did get caught up in the K-pop wave, I'm glad it's all over. Haha, now I wonder what was it that ever ever everrr got me hooked to them. O_O I did buy some albums and now I feel like selling them off D: Haha but I guess it was fun while it lasted. Then came around the whole "I'm asian! I need more Chinese music!" and glad to say I'm a Lee Hom fan!
I couldn't get enough of this one particular song of his "放開你的心" It's super catchy! Then I learned how to read a bit of Chinese from there. (: Glad I caught his concert here in Malaysia last year (:<
As time passes, I started listening to indie instrumental like Sigur Ros. Personally, I like how sleep inducing their music is. (: They have pretty interesting music videos too like "Ágætis byrjun". "Olsen Olsen" is still my favourite from them. However, Kings of Convenience stole the spot light after a while. A band consisting of only 2 acoustic guitarist, they definitely get me into a very easy mood. Totally dig their song "Mrs. Cold".
It's a pity I missed their performance earlier this year D:
Although what I've written here is only a small fraction regarding the kind of music I listen to, I apparently have 799 artists on my iTunes and counting. Ranging from almost every kind of genre. Yet, today, I'm tied to the 90s and I have boy bands ruling my iTunes...for now. (:<
